Conditionally Formatting a Drop Down List We are now going to take this concept one level further and apply some conditional formatting to the drop down data validation list. This is useful if you want to highlight when a job is completed, check off items from a list or to evaluate risk in a project just like I have done in below´s example. STEP 1:  Select the range that you want to apply the conditional formatting to. STEP 2:  Go to  Home > Styles > Conditional Formatting > Manage Rules STEP 3:  Select  New Rule STEP 4:  Create the new rule for  High  values: Select  Use a formula to determine which cells to format Type in the Formula  =$A4=”high”  This formula will ensure only the column is absolute. CTRL + SHIFT + ARROWS: Move / Highlight Cells If you want to quickly move to the last cell of your table/data you can press CTRL +  ↔ ↕ . If you want to quickly highlight up to the last cell of your table/data you can press CTRL + SHIFT +  ↔ ↕ . CTRL + SHIFT + L: Insert a Filter in Excel To insert a filter in Excel using a keyboard shortcut you need to click in a column heading and press  CTRL+SHIFT+L To un-filter, you need to press this shortcut again.  I use this shortcut all the time :) F4: Repeat Last Action If you want to repeat a previous action, like  inserting a column/row, formatting cells, copy & pasting etc , then you can use the F4 keyboard shortcut which will repeat your last action (in most cases).

Whenever I tried typing using the Wingdings font, I was not sure which symbol I would get! I will show you how easy it is to pick a  cool Wingdings Symbol  and use it in your Excel worksheet!
